PAPER CUT-OUTS
The paper cut-outs that I make, are based on all kind of birds. From a young age I have always thought that animals are a grateful subject for art. Especially birds. I've immersed myself in their way of life, origin, anatomy and the role they play in art.
The paper cut-outs are cut with different kind of knives (scalpels) to display the most accurate image of the bird I want to expose.
The choice of paper is very important depending on the composition and size. Paper is brutal in its simplicity. It is light and versatile.
The color of the paper is essential and helps to capture the emotion in the final result. I usually choose natural colors, like different shades of brown & grey tones. Every once in a while I choose to use gold or silver paper, depending on the kind of bird I want to make.
