This collection shows a large variety of drawings that I have made. The last 5 years, I’ve been making ‘line drawings’.
It started out as an exercise to speed up my way of sketching. The small mistakes ended up to be hidden treasures that grew into a final piece.
The drawings all show the many different sides; hard edged & fluid, abstract & figurative, rational & emotional and raw & unraveled at the same time.
I draw my inspiration from different subjects such as love, friendship & sexuality, society, portraits & figures as well as literature. Often a phrase or a word creates its own dialogue with the drawing long before I even pick up my pen.
I don’t believe there are a lots of rules in art especially when you make something that isn’t aimed to be perfect in the first place. In the end it is all about the simplicity of the line.
